Tabletop Moviemaking Studio Review

I purchased 4 kits for my classroom for a unit called Storytelling Through Art. I'm an art teacher and I taught this unit with my 6th grade class. The kits were complete. They included everything you could want to make inspire imagination & creativity. One of the best parts of the unit early on was the students putting together the set. Problem solving skills came into play along with team work to build the set, lights and other components. My students used the characters, props and backgrounds provided for a starting off point. I also had them make original character, backgrounds and props, so they could use their art skills there. The booklet that came with the kits was great. We spend a day or so, reading through the booklet and talking about story structure. Then the students wrote original scripts to use in their movies. They loved filming & editing the movie too. It was a great cross-curricular unit between Art, ELA & Drama. The students were fully engaged and had fun! I'm sure if you bought this for someone to use in a non-school setting, they would enjoy it just as much. I am really happy I have found this, and will continue to buy more kits to use in my classroom.
